The dial of Cartier’s large White Parrot Theme Watch is carved with the mother-of pearl, and filled enamel inside. The art creation of this watch is inspired by the thorough and changeable reflection of the nacre. Its dial is covered by the extremely small pieces of nacre, showing the delicate the soft feeling of feather.
It is a very meticulous carving process. It is cut into extremely small pieces based on the transparency of the nacre and the color wanted. After that, it is carved into the shape of feather with the high precision knife. The graver uses this way to express the gradual changes from pink to white to create the prefect stereo and deep feeling.

The tiger theme watch
The decoration picture of Cartier’s tiger theme watch comes like the canvas in the dial. The black is the bottom lining and foil of white. The maker paints a layer of bright black enamel to cover the dial and sets in the kiln at high temperature. Then he draws the white Limoges enamel painting step by step which needs 6-8 times different kiln process. It takes nearly 40 hours to finish the enamel painting. Grisaille gray enamel is an ancient enamel painting skill and is named by the use of black, white, and grey. It is similar to the painting finished by the carver.
